Fueling auto-erotic fantasies.
Before a luxury/performance car hits the street, it jockeys for position in buyers’ imaginations. Working behind the scenes for a client agency, I wrote the national dealer brochures for the new Z4 roadster, and the M3, 5-Series, 6-Series and 7-Series lines. Germany supplied each car’s positioning, the layouts and answers to technical questions, and I took off from there. I also got to write the cover story for BMW Magazine (an actual “by” line for once — who gets THAT in advertising?) which formally introduced the Z4 to salivating brand enthusiasts worldwide.
